This is the first in a series of classes that will use patterns from Alice and Lisa Hoffman’s new book Faerie Knitting. Each class will have a specific project to focus on, with a list of suggested yarn and supplies.
You do not need to do the project, though: you can also join us to learn one of the basic skills connected to the project or to ask for support on your own project.
In January, we’ll make a charm bag. The pattern could also be adapted to make a soap sack. Skills we’ll discuss:
- Casting on
- Knit stitch
- Binding off
- Weaving in loose ends
- Optional: i-cord
For this project, you’ll need:
- DK-weight yarn. Recommended: Shibui Knits Rain. I’ve also used a cheaper yarn with good results.
- Size 6 needles
- Darning needle
- Optional: double-pointed needles or a crochet hook
Make sure you check out our upcoming art retreats and Milwaukee Art classes as well as our Madison art classes!
